Tech Task #5 - Lyric Typography Poster

I chose Design Assignment 259 where you make a lyric typography poster. You need to start by choosing a favourite line from a song and illustrate it using only typography!

Here is the one I made using Mumford & Sons lyrics from "Awake My Soul."

Fantastically Fun Fonts!

As I make my way through different class projects and presentations, I've had many of my colleagues ask me how I get such awesome fonts in my work! I couldn't be more excited to share! I think I am addicted to downloading different fonts. Here are a few of my favourites at the moment: (click to go to download page)

I find fonts all over the place. Pinterest has many good links to free downloadable fonts. I also like to browse on the font sites as well.

Once you find a font you like, you will need to download it, simply by clicking the download button. Then, I go the my Downloads folder on my computer. Most fonts come in a .zip file, so you need to extract the files. You can extract the files and install to your computer in two easy steps!

1. Extract Files: right click on the .zip file. Click Extract All... Follow the next screen and press Extract again. 

2. Your file will pop up in another screen. Right click on the file and then click Install. This will install the font into your computer!! 

Now, go ahead and type with your new fun font!!

Once you have the font installed, you can delete the files in your downloads folder because you will no longer need them!
